Cancellation and refunds

Last updated

You can cancel a Shmor subscription at any time from your account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. This page explains how to cancel, what happens afterwards, the 14-day cancellation right that consumers have under UK law, and how refunds are handled. It forms part of our terms of service. Your statutory rights are not affected.

How do I cancel a subscription?

  1. Sign in and open Billing.
  2. Open the subscription management page.
  3. Cancel your plan and confirm.

You do not need to contact us.

When does cancellation take effect?

At the end of the current billing period. Until then you keep your plan and its captures. After that your subscription does not renew and Shmor stops processing new messages. Everything Shmor wrote to Attio or HubSpot stays there: it is your data in your CRM. Records in ShmorCRM stay too, read-only: you can still view, export and delete them, but not add or edit them, until you choose a plan again.

Do subscriptions renew automatically?

Yes. Monthly plans renew every month and yearly plans every year, until you cancel.

Does the free trial turn into a paid plan?

No. The trial does not need a card and never charges you. When it ends, Shmor stops processing new messages until you choose a plan.

What is the 14-day cancellation right?

If you are a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 normally give you 14 days from the day you buy to cancel a contract for services, without giving a reason. Shmor is intended for business use, so this right only applies if you buy as a consumer, that is, for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession.

Shmor starts working as soon as you buy. So that we can do that within the 14 days, when you buy we ask you to expressly request that the service starts immediately and acknowledge what that means for your right to cancel, as explained below.

Subscriptions. If you cancel a new subscription within 14 days of buying, your plan ends straight away and we refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the service you used before you told us you were cancelling. We work that out from the captures you used: each one counts as an equal share of the plan’s captures for that billing period. If you have not used any, you get a full refund. We refund within 14 days of your cancellation, to the card you paid with. To exercise this right, contact us at hello@metamindz.co.uk within the 14 days, or use the model cancellation form below.

Top-ups. A top-up is a one-off purchase of extra captures. If you ask us to make it available straight away and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once it has been fully used, you can cancel within 14 days and get a refund for the captures you have not used.

Do you give refunds in other cases?

Outside the statutory cancellation right, payments are not refundable by default, including for the rest of a billing period after you cancel, because you keep your plan until the period ends. This does not affect your rights if something goes wrong: if Shmor is not provided with reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to have it put right or to a price reduction under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Contact us at hello@metamindz.co.uk and we will look at it.

If we close your account for reasons other than a breach of our terms, we will refund any payment for the unused part of a paid period.
