HubSpot integration
HubSpot contacts, created while you are still at the event.
Shmor connects to your HubSpot account and creates contacts and companies, associates them, and adds a note and a follow-up task, from a message on Telegram. WhatsApp is coming soon.
Connecting
Paste a service key, once.
In HubSpot, a Super admin creates a service key for Shmor (a legacy private app token works too) with the access Shmor uses: contacts, companies and deals, the owners list so tasks are assigned to you, and contact properties so it can add its own. Paste the key into Integrations in your Shmor account (or the CRM step of set-up). Shmor checks it and adds its properties before saving, so a key that does not work never replaces one that does. Where Shmor’s HubSpot app is set up, you can also connect by approving access on HubSpot’s own page.
The key is encrypted at rest and cannot be read back through Shmor, even by you. To cut access, disconnect in Shmor and delete the key in HubSpot. Step-by-step guide.
What it writes
Clean records, associated properly.
- Companies
- Found by domain, then by name, before anything is created, so you do not get a second “Acme Ltd”.
- Contacts
- Found by email, then LinkedIn URL, then name and company. Existing contacts are updated and associated with the company.
- Notes
- What you said about the conversation, as a note on the contact’s timeline.
- Tasks
- The follow-up, associated with the contact and due on the date you chose.
- Deals
- On Pro, if you tap “Create deal”, a deal in your pipeline tagged with the services you sell.
Your portal
One property group called Shmor.
- Met via
- A dropdown: Networking event, Conference, Intro, Inbound, Online or Other. Use it in lists and reports to see where relationships start.
- Met at
- A text property: the event name or who introduced you.
- Needs info
- Checkboxes Shmor sets while it waits for an answer, and clears when you reply.
The three properties sit in their own group on contacts, so they are easy to find and do not mix with your existing properties. On Pro, custom field mapping lets Shmor fill properties you already have.
Good to know
Current limits.
- If a card shows more than one email address, Shmor writes the first. HubSpot’s current API has no supported way to add the others.
- Each Shmor account connects to one HubSpot account.
