Connecting

Paste an access token, once.

In Attio, a workspace admin opens Workspace settings, then Developers, and creates an access token for Shmor with these permissions: records read-write, object configuration read-write, notes read-write, tasks read-write and user management read. Paste the token into Integrations in your Shmor account (or the CRM step of set-up). Shmor checks it, adds its attributes to People and only then saves it, so a token that does not work never replaces one that does. Where Shmor’s Attio app is set up, you can also connect by signing in on Attio’s own page instead.

The token is encrypted at rest and cannot be read back through Shmor, even by you. To cut access, disconnect in Shmor and delete the token under Developers in Attio. Step-by-step guide.

What it writes

Records you would have typed yourself.

Companies: Matched by domain, then by name. A new company is created only when nothing matches, and gets its domain.
People: Matched by email, then LinkedIn URL, then name and company. Found records are updated and linked to the company.
Notes: A short summary of what you said about the conversation, on the person.
Tasks: The follow-up, linked to the person, with the due date you gave or your default.
Deals: On Pro, when you tap “Create deal”: a deal in your Deals object, tagged with the services you sell. Tasks and deals are left unassigned when Shmor cannot tell which workspace member you are.

Your workspace

Three attributes on People, nothing else.

Met via: A select: Networking event, Conference, Intro, Inbound, Online or Other. Filter People by it to see which events actually produce relationships.
Met at: Text: the event name or who introduced you.
Needs info: A multi-select Shmor sets while it is waiting for an answer from you, and clears once you reply.

Met via and Met at are only written when a record does not already have them, so a later message never overwrites how you first met someone. On Pro, custom field mapping lets Shmor fill your own attributes too.

Questions

Who needs to approve the connection?

Creating an access token in Attio needs a workspace admin. An admin can create the token and paste it into Shmor, or create it and pass it to you. After that, Shmor works under that token until it is deleted.

Will Shmor change my existing attributes?

No. It adds Met via, Met at and Needs info to People if they are not there, and writes standard fields such as name, job title, email and phone.

Can I connect Attio and HubSpot at the same time?

No. Each Shmor account connects to one CRM.
