Connect HubSpot
By Lev Perlman1 min read
Quick steps
- In HubSpot, go to Development, Keys, Service keys and click Create service key, named "Shmor". You need to be a Super admin.
- Add the scopes:
crm.objects.contacts.readand.write,crm.objects.companies.readand.write,crm.objects.deals.readand.write,crm.objects.owners.read,crm.schemas.contacts.readand.write, andcrm.schemas.deals.read. - Create the key, click Show, then Copy.
- In Shmor, open Integrations, then Connect with an access key on the HubSpot card, and paste it into HubSpot access key.
A legacy private app token with the same scopes works too. See the full guide.
What Shmor adds
A contact property group called Shmor with Met via, Met at and Needs info. LinkedIn profiles go into HubSpot's own LinkedIn property. Then contacts, companies, notes, to-do tasks and, on Pro, deals.
HubSpot limits to know
- Only the first email address is written; HubSpot's API does not let apps set additional emails.
- Two phone numbers fit: phone and mobile phone.
Switching and disconnecting
Connecting HubSpot makes it the active CRM. Your ShmorCRM records stay in ShmorCRM, read-only. Disconnect on the HubSpot card stops Shmor writing until you connect a CRM again; nothing in HubSpot is deleted. Delete the key in HubSpot to revoke access completely.
